200 micron filter for clean coffee

When coffee beans are ground, a fine powder (coffee powder) is produced to a greater or lesser extent.

Fine powder brings out a lot of the coffee bean's flavor, both good and bad, which can cause astringency and bitterness.

The Shimmy Sieve is a product designed to remove just those fine particles.

Removing fines is one option, especially when trying to bring out the fruity acidity of lightly roasted specialty coffee.

Just add coffee beans and shake to easily remove fines from ground coffee beans.

Compare before and after using the Shimmy Sieve...

Michelle R. Johnson

- "The bitterness is gone, and the sweetness and body of French press coffee really come out, creating a well-balanced flavor."

Alexander Milles

- "It produces results you wouldn't expect from a propeller-type grinder. It will raise the quality of coffee ground in any coffee grinder."

Brian Quan

- "The coffee flavor comes out clearly "

Easy to shake design

The Shimmy Sieve looks like a cocktail shaker and is easy to hold.

The transparent design makes it easy to see how much fine powder is coming out.

The pop-open lid also allows evenly filtered coffee beans to flow directly into the dripper.

Easy to disassemble and easy to clean

All parts can be disassembled, making cleaning very easy.

We recommend washing by hand, but the main body and stainless steel filter can be put in the dishwasher.

Please hand wash the lid and bottom cap.

How much shaking should I do?

At Fellow, the rule is " more than 30 seconds but less than 120 seconds ."

If you remove too much of the fine powder, the flavor may end up being lacking, so be careful not to shake too much.

What is the average amount of fines removed using a Shimmy?

The finer the grind, the greater the chance of fines, and the longer you sift, the more fines you will collect.

Notes

  • Do not place near fire.
  • Please be careful of children's mischief.
  • After washing the unit, immediately wipe off any moisture with a dry cloth.
  • If you leave it for a long time after use without washing it, coffee oils may accumulate on the stainless steel filter and the fine powder may not be removed properly. In this case, soak the product in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes, rinse it off and dry it.
