Introduction
About the product
A katakuchi tea bowl that functions as a teapot into which matcha is poured after it has been brewed.
This was created in collaboration between Kurasu Kyoto and TOKINOHA Ceramic Studio in Yamashina, Kyoto.
The warmth of these tea bowls, made by skilled craftsmen, and their cute, rounded shape make them suitable for use not only for matcha tea, but also for alcohol, dressings, sauces, and a variety of other purposes.
The glaze we chose is warm and pleasant to the touch, so it will match any occasion.
Getting started with matcha is surprisingly easy, as long as you have matcha , a chasen , and this katakuchi.
This is a product that is useful both at home and outdoors and is something you'll want to have in your home.
About TOKINOHA Ceramic Studi
Founded in Kyoto in 2009, TOKINOHA Ceramic Studio is based in Kiyomizu-yaki Danchicho, where Kiyomizu-yaki is born, and operates a workshop for producing pottery, a shop for selling pottery, and a store where experience classes are held.
In today's tough world of pottery, TOKINOHA Ceramic Studio is also known for its energetic activities outside of pottery production. "The world of pottery in Japan is tough, and there is a belief that the beautiful thing about the world of craftsmen is that they work in a tough environment, but the number of young people is decreasing rapidly," says Shimizu of TOKINOHA Ceramic Studio.
In order to change this environment, they are currently implementing various initiatives and reforming working styles, and are constantly searching for ways to encourage more young people to pursue a career in pottery.
