Kurasu Kyoto-style Yuzen original hand towel
New designs now available for Kurasu's original tenugui!
Introduction
About the product
An original textile available from autumn 2024. We have created a classically indigo-colored tenugui with a textile design that expresses the Kurasu logo in a pixelated style.
This time, the manufacturing method and design have been renewed!
This product was made using the "Kyoto Yuzen" technique, where artisans hand-dye each piece using a stencil. It has a high-quality, unique texture and feel with depth. The indigo color stands out, making it a product that exudes a Kyoto feel. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as wrapping small items and of course in the kitchen.
About original textiles
"Pixel Flow" The Kurasu logo is turned into dots (pixels) and designed into a continuous pattern.
The flow of the Kamo River in Kyoto and the surrounding mountains are symbolically captured to create a unique visual that fuses digital and nature. Even if you don't realize that the pattern is the "Kurasu" logo, you will feel that the pattern is Kurasu's identity. The design is intended for use in everyday life, such as textiles and interior items, and allows you to incorporate Kurasu's design into your life.
Background of the name Pixel Flow: The pixelated (digitized) design of the Kurasu logo blends with the nature of Kyoto (especially the flow of the Kamo River) to create a flowing, continuous pattern.
