Minimalist design with a matte finish
It has no handle and a stylish form. The body is made of a tough plastic called polycarbonate, and its thickness has been adjusted so that it doesn't get hot enough to burn you when you hold it.
Polycarbonate has low thermal conductivity. In other words, it is characterized by its "hard to heat up or cool down". Since the temperature does not escape, it is easy to make a consistent and stable extraction.
Interchangeable base for even more personalization
The base can be easily removed. The choice of bases adds variety to your daily coffee making.
A matte base is also available to match the Basalt color! The new Supernova color is also available.
A unique drip experience with a unique spout
The outlet at the bottom is a unique design called the OREA Ring. It has a larger hole than conventional drippers so that only the delicious parts of specialty coffee can be dripped.
New Line - Competition Series -
The products they have created so far have been highly praised not only for their design but also for their performance, and many coffee competitors use OREA's Brewers.
Matteo, the UK Brewers Champion, custom ordered an Orea dripper made of polycarbonate, which didn't exist at the time, and took it to the World Championships.
This product is a commercialized version of that concept, truly a dripper for competitors.
Sherry, the 2022 World Brewers Champion, also used an Orea Brewer (made by Trogamid) at the world championships.
Staff Comments
"Of the Orea series, this is my favorite texture and surface finish. It's so silky smooth, I just want to rub my cheek against it.
Basalt is a commercial version of a polycarbonate brewer that UK champion Matteo ordered from OREA. It is reminiscent of the April dripper that Patrik of April Coffee created for the world championships.
Until now, Orea has mostly come in transparent versions. This black version may be a must-have item depending on your home setup. (Naruo)
User testimonials
Q: Why did you start using it?
I started using it because I wanted to broaden the range of drip coffee I could offer in my shop.
Q: Please tell us your honest thoughts after using it!
What I like about OREA is the high level of reproducibility and the unique flavor it produces.
Our shop is greatly affected by the outside temperature, wind, and vibrations, so it is important to be able to produce a consistent flavor under any circumstances. In that respect, the OREA is extremely useful because of its high reproducibility thanks to its wave-shaped characteristics.
Another feature of OREA is that it tends to have a sweet yet refreshing taste. My brew style is a sweet and refreshing coffee, so OREA is very easy to use.
Q: Who would you recommend this to?
This is recommended for those who want to broaden their coffee experience, and of course for beginners too.
Not only is it easier to bring out the sweetness, but it is also easier to raise the water level than with a conical dripper, which reduces unevenness during extraction.
This is an excellent dripper that will open up new possibilities for experienced coffee makers and easily produce delicious coffee for beginners.
