Unleash the potential of VS3!

The VS3 comes standard with a 420 stainless steel blade.

This replacement blade is titanium coated to grind the coffee beans more powerfully.

What's more, the Hypernova Burr is made from 440 stainless steel, which is extremely hard!

The Ultra Burr goes even further with a pre-cut design and plasma coat.

These replacement blades are especially good for a fine grind and are recommended for those who make espresso at home.

Durability and heat resistance

Titanium coated blades are more durable and heat resistant. The cutting edge is less likely to heat up during grinding, which affects the durability and sharpness of the cutting edge.

Fast and stable grind

Titanium-coated blades tend to have slower grind speeds than stainless steel blades (including Ultra). This is because the surface of the blade is smoother after treatment. Although the grind speed is slower, you can expect improved uniformity, especially with finer grinds.

*The grind size may vary by 1-3 marks compared to standard stainless steel blades. Before making coffee, please perform a test grind and adjust the grind size.

  • Coating: Titanium, plasma coat
  • Recommended coffee type: Espresso (filter coffee)

*Specification change: The shape has changed from this time, and the grind speed has not improved. Like other replacement blades, the grind speed tends to be slower. (The English text on the box says that the grind speed will be faster, but due to this specification change, the grind speed will actually be slower.)

It produces a medium body with lively clarity, crispness and balanced acidity.

It is also the only one with a different shape than the other refills, which produces a brighter acidity than previous versions.

This is a high-end blade that maintains accuracy through more precise grinding than usual on high-hardness stainless steel, and is titanium-processed and then plasma-coated to achieve overwhelming hardness, durability, heat resistance, and a uniform grind.

It's the best replacement blade for the VS3 2nd generation for morning roasted coffee beans!!

Warm
Sharaku Onkoyama Retirement
The first blade I used was the "Ohaguro" color.

After purchasing, I wondered if there was a difference between "ohaguro" and "kinha" (golden teeth), so I contacted Kigu.
We received a response from the manufacturer stating that they believe there is no fundamental difference between the black and gold blades, and that the only difference is the color.
However, after purchasing it, when I watched the related video, some people said that the particle size distribution was different, so I was left wondering again.
The black has a longer distance between the espresso area and the drip area than the gold.
In conclusion, I will try using the Black version for a while and then purchase the Gold version to compare them.
With your own tongue.
I started using KONO and V60, and the grid mill I had been using was specialized for the mesh and I couldn't adjust the grain size, and the size of the R440 bothered me, so I decided to try the VS3. I'm getting bogged down in this.

I hope it will demonstrate its power by being differentiated from other grinders.

I mainly use the FujiRoyal Coffee Mill Miruko (grinder blade) for hand drip with medium to coarse grind.
I believe the "uniformity of particle size" when used within this range is unmatched by any other grinder, and I also like the feel of it.
The purpose of purchasing the VS3 is to broaden the range of hand drip coffee from medium roast to light roast, and to be able to use fine grind more flexibly. *I also enjoy using the moka pot for fun, so I can make use of it.
Furthermore, until now I've been able to get by with the COMANDANTE C40 when it comes to tricky drip brewing, but grinding hard, lightly roasted beans by hand is hell, so an electric conical blade has become a must.
Recently, I was impressed by some Nicaraguan beans roasted to a degree of 61 (Agtron number) from a roaster, which had a sharp acidity, so I immediately purchased some and tried to recreate the flavor, but it was a difficult challenge and I had to give up.
Well, the grinder used by the other party was a Mahlkonig EK43, so it was inevitable that it would be defeated. It doesn't have a clear, defined sour taste.
I would definitely like to get revenge on this in VS3.
I have now finished synchronizing the extraction level with Miruko, and would like to start using it in earnest for POUR OVER grinding.
Synchronizing the extraction level means measuring the TDS with a coffee concentration meter and simultaneously calculating the yield to compare the approximate values.
Even if the numerical value is the same, the taste will be different, but I think it is useful as a reference value.

Balance and smoothness

I had a HYPER NOVA, but since I drink a lot of medium and dark roasts as well as light roasts, I wanted a blade that was more versatile, so I bought this.
HYPER had a sharp taste with a strong acidity and overall edge.
The GOLD has a rounded, mild flavor in light to dark roasts. Compared to the standard blade, it seems to have a stronger flavor.

It's amazing how much it changes!

I didn't think there would be such a big change.
With a clear and sharp taste <br>No unpleasant sourness develops even over time.
