Created by a world-class roaster

The design was created by Patrick Rolfe of April Coffee Roasters, which delivers specialty coffee from Denmark to the world.

It took three years for the dripper idea to be developed, and the company is famous for using its April Pour-Over Brewing kit at the 2019 world championships.

At that competition, he achieved first place in the world in cup score and second place overall, and after the competition he commercialized the product, which became a hot topic.

The April Glass Brewer is a dripper that he invented, made out of glass and finished to a beautiful appearance.

Transparent glass makes coffee making even more elegant

You can enjoy watching the coffee being brewed.

The shape is the same as the original April Pour-Over Brewing kit . Enjoy this world-class coffee brewing method at home.

The recipe from the World Championships is here

Easy-to-clean removable base

The base into which the dripper fits is very convenient and easy to clean.

The base also has three large holes designed to allow air to escape, improving air circulation and preventing unnecessary pooling of water.

It's a great dripper

I am impressed with how the light roast coffee is brewed with such a wonderful juiciness.
I use it in combination with a special filter.

One thing that bothered me about the product was that the nylon base of the glass dripper can be separated, but the part that comes into contact with the server is flat, so I was a bit worried that it might slip off at any moment.
I'm using Timemore's X Lite, so I don't know how much the grind of Comandante is equivalent to, but I thought the grind on the website was a little coarse, so I went for 16 clicks, and it took just under a minute and a half to grind a 200ml cup. I'll try using it a little more to see if it's refreshing because it grinds so quickly.

Other than the price it's very good.

When you brew coffee using Patrick's recipe, you get a coffee that is very clear, yet has a strong sweetness and a good balance of acidity and bitterness.

I tried the same brewing method with the Kalita Wave Dripper 155, which has the same wave-shaped dripper.
APRIL is simply clear and well-balanced, while 155 has a strong body and, to put it negatively, a bitter and muddy taste.
(If you are mixing it with milk, I think the stronger flavor of 155 would be a better balance.)

Compared to the V60, when brewing using my method, I was very surprised at how clearer the APRIL was, and the acidity and flavor were not harsh but rather delicate and well-balanced, with a more pleasant weight than the V60.

The drippers we compared this time, especially the V60, are more than 10 times more expensive than the V60, so I think it is very expensive for a dripper.
It's amazing to be able to brew coffee with this clarity and balance at home.

I think the design is beautiful, and it's a little wider than the Kalita 155, making it easier to pour hot water.
As a flat-bottom dripper, I think it is easier to use than the 155.

I think this dripper and Patrick's recipe are truly wonderful. There is no harsh acidity or bitterness that can occur when over-extracting with a flat-bottom dripper, but there is also no wateriness or weak body that can sometimes be felt when dripping unsuccessfully with a conical dripper.

However, it is still expensive, and the glass is thin and there is a risk of it breaking, so the only downside is that it can be a bit nerve-wracking for everyday use.

A dripper that makes brewing coffee fun

This beautiful dripper makes brewing coffee a pleasure.
The glass is thin and delicate, inspiring you to handle it with care.
This also means that hand-dripping becomes more gentle, which is great.
The diameter is slightly larger than the Kalita 155, making it easier to circulate the hot water in the kettle.

I like the design.

I love the design and it makes brewing coffee so much more fun.
Since it is made of glass, you can see the extraction process, which is a fun thing to do.
The only thing I found a little disappointing was that the dripper and base are separate, but they are a little unstable. I'm always nervous when washing them...
